Aches and Pains Relief

Inflammation is a natural reaction to injury or infection. Unfortunately, the body is not always equipped to deal with the stress associated with injury, infection and inflammation.

Excessive free radical production in inflammatory conditions can deplete the body’s antioxidant stores and overtax the body’s healing systems, delaying recovery and tissue repair(10;11;18). Specific nutrients and natural herbs can support the body’s natural healing processes in conditions of stress or pain associated with athletic or acute injury. Infinity2’s inflammation aid provides a proprietary blend of enzymes, powerful herbs and antioxidants to nutritionally support the body's healing processes.

Boswellia serrata: Boswellia, a close relative of frankincense (B. sacra), has been used for many thousands of years as an astringent and anti-inflammatory(9). Modern researchers have found that boswellia’s anti-inflammatory properties come both from its antioxidant capabilities and its unique ability to inhibit the production of leukotrienes (chemical messengers of the immune system) associated with inflammation(1;3;4;21;22).

Protease: Protease enzymes break down large protein molecules into smaller proteins and amino acids. As a natural part of healing, proteins can build up in an area of injury. Protease assists in breaking up waste protein in the area of injury(5;6;8;13;16). By breaking up waste protein, protease enzymes support the natural healing processes and efficiency of the body in rebuilding damaged areas.

Bromelain: Bromelain is a special combination of protease enzymes derived from pineapples. In addition to its general protease effects, bromelain has been shown to modulate the chemical messengers of the immune system (cytokines and prostaglandins)(2;12;14;24;25). By modulating the activity of specific chemical messengers (cytokines and prostaglandins) that are associated with pain and inflammation, bromelain may exert specific anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effects.

Proprietary Blend: The inflammation aid Proprietary Blend provides specific enzymes, herbs and minerals to nutritionally support the body’s healing systems. This exclusive blend includes:

  • Turmeric, a special herb grown in India, China and southeast Asia that has been used traditionally in herbal medicine for bruises and other injuries(15). More recently, it has been researched for its use in arthritis and postoperative pain and is thought to mediate cortisol levels during healing(7;15).
  • Feverfew, like Boswellia, is an herb with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of various prostaglandins associated with pain and inflammation(17;19;20;23;26).
  • Grape seed extract, one of the most powerful antioxidants available, helps protect tissues from free radicals produced in conditions of inflammation.
  • Additional proteases, providing a full range of protease activity, ensure that waste proteins in the area of injury are completely broken down allowing the body’s natural healing processes to occur.
  • Lycopenes that provide natural anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects.
  • Patented amino acid chelated selenium complex supplies the most bioavailable source of selenium helping to restore selenium levels, which are depleted during injury and inflammation.

SOD Precursor System: Interestingly, the body already contains the most potent and powerful antioxidant available: super oxide dismutase (SOD). The body’s ability to produce enough SOD during injury and inflammatory conditions is diminished. Supplementation may help to restore SOD levels. Unfortunately, supplemental SOD is often destroyed in the digestive system and is poorly absorbed when taken orally. However, based on research by Dr. Harvey Ashmead, we have provided a way for the body to have more of this natural free radical fighter. The inflammation aid includes exclusive SOD Precursors, or what might be called SOD "building blocks," which provide the body with what it needs to produce its own SOD.

CAeDS® Blend: Necessary to assure there are no barriers to assimilation. CAeDS® includes the exact enzymes and co-factors to guarantee absorption and delivery of the powerful ingredients and to fully activate the enzymes in the formula.
Following an injury or strenuous physical activity, the body needs extra nutritional support to repair damaged tissues, fight free radicals released after an injury or exercise, and augment the body’s natural anti-inflammatory systems. The proprietary blend of enzymes, herbs and antioxidants in Infinity2’s inflammation aid nutritionally supports the body’s healing processes and with CAeDS®, each nutrient and herb is delivered to the cells and tissues that need it.
